Javed Saifullah Khan - Chairman
Mr. Javed Saifullah Khan is the Chairman of Saif Group of Companies. He joined the Group in 1973 and since 1981 he has headed the Group, and has been responsible for promoting new ventures and transforming the Group into the diversified business it is today.
Mr. Khan is a globally acclaimed business leader with deep and comprehensive expertise in introducing new projects in emerging markets. He is credited with launching Mobilink, the first ever GSM cellular company in the subcontinent, in JV partnership with Motorola. He also developed Trans World Associates, Pakistan’s first private sector undersea fiber optic cable system of 1300 KM between Pakistan, Oman and UAE. His efforts led to development of the Mediterranean Textile Company in Egypt as a JV of Saif Group with local Egyptian partners. MTC produces yarn for the premium segment of the European shirting market and is one of the top exporters of Egypt in textile spinning industry.
In recognition of his expertise of Pakistan’s corporate sector and his services to bringing foreign direct investment into Pakistan, the Government of Pakistan awarded him the prestigious Sitara I Imtiaz, one of Pakistan’s highest Civil Awards, in 2007.
He continues to serve as Member – Board of Investment, Government of Pakistan. He has served twice as Chairman of All Pakistan Textile Mills Association (APTMA). He also formerly served as Member Board of Directors of Pakistan International Airlines (PIA), Habib Bank Limited, and Mobilink.
Mr. Khan graduated with a BA in Economics & History from Carnegie Mellon University and went on to receive his MBA from the University of Pittsburgh in 1973.
Anwar Saifullah Khan – Co-Chairman
Anwar Saifullah Khan is Co-Chairman of the Saif Group of Companies. He is also the Chairman of a number of the Group companies including Saif Energy, Green Fuels and Lahore Compost.
Anwar Saifullah Khan joined the Civil Service of Pakistan in 1970. During his years in government service, he held key field and staff appointments including Deputy Commissioner of Mardan and Kohat Districts. He served as Consul General of Pakistan in Montreal, Canada from 1980 to 1984. He resigned from the Civil Service in 1984 to join the Saif Group.
In the general elections of 1988 Mr. Anwar S Khan was elected to the National Assembly of Pakistan. Following the 1990 General Elections, he became a Senator and served in the Senate of Pakistan until March 1997.
During his service as a public representative, Mr. Anwar S Khan held the following Cabinet positions:
- Federal Minister for Environment and Urban Affairs (1991 to 1993)
- Federal Minister for Petroleum and Natural Resources (1994 to 1996).
Anwar Saifullah Khan holds an MA in Political Science from the University of Peshawar, an MA in Politics, Philosophy and Economics from Christ Church – the University of Oxford and a Masters in Public Administration from the University of Southern California.
Salim Saifullah Khan
Salim Saifullah Khan is Chairman of Saif Power Ltd.
Mr. Khan is a former elected member of Senate of Pakistan and was the Chairman, Senate Standing Committee on Foreign Affairs, Kashmir Affairs and Gilgit-Baltistan. Mr. Khan has had an illustrious political career where he held important political offices and ministerial portfolios both in the Federal and Provincial Governments. These included:

- Minister for Housing and Works
- Minister for Commerce
- Minister for Petroleum and Natural Resources
Provincial Government (KPK)
- Minister for Finance, Industries, Population Welfare and Environment

He has also represented Pakistan in numerous international conferences as Head of Pakistan’s parliamentary delegations.
Besides his political career, Mr. Khan has also developed a strong repute in the corporate sector of Pakistan. He has in the past represented various local trade bodies including as:
- Chairman All Pakistan Textile Mills Association (APTMA)
- Chairman All Pakistan Flour Mills Association- KPK Zone
- Member Advisory Council Economic Affairs, Government of Pakistan
He is currently the Co-Chairman of Lucky Cement Ltd, Pakistan’s largest cement manufacturer and also serves as a Member of the Governing Council of Society for the Promotion of Engineering Sciences and Technology (SOPREST). He is a lifetime member of Lahore Press Club and also holds the prestigious position of being the Honorary Council General for Republic of Turkey.
Mr. Salim S. Khan is a graduate of Carnegie Mellon University of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA.
Osman Saifullah Khan
Osman Saifullah Khan is the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Saif Textile Mills and Mediterranean Textile Mills.
Osman S. Khan joined the Textile Division of the Saif Group in 1995 and is responsible for the continued growth and success of the Division. He heads the Group’s business development and strategic activities, in addition to his continuing role at the Textile Division.
Mr. Osman S. Khan has been elected to a number of key appointments at All Pakistan Textile Mills Association (APTMA) including:
- Central Vice – Chairman
- Chairman – Khyber Pakhtunkhuwa Zone (two terms)
- Member – Central Managing Committee (two terms)
Mr Khan has remained a member of the Board of Management, Pakistan State Oil (PSO), Pakistan's largest corporation.
Mr Khan has recently been elected to the Senate of Pakistan. He represents the Federal Capital, Islamabad.
Mr.Osman Saifullah Khan has a Masters Degree in Business Administration (MBA) from the Graduate School of Business, Stanford University and a Masters in Engineering, Economics and Management from Christ Church, the University of Oxford. He attended Oxford as Britannia Chevening Scholar.
Omar Saifullah Khan
Omar Saifullah Khan is Director of Saif Holdings Ltd. He joined the Saif Group in 2005 as Vice President.
Mr. Omar S Khan holds a Bachelors degree in Applied Economics & Business Management from Cornell University, an MS in Telecommunications and Information System from Johns Hopkins University and an MBA from Columbia University.
His areas of expertise include global and regional business issues, priorities of capital and financial flows with a special focus on the Telecommunications and Power Generation sectors. Mr. Omar S Khan led the team that raised US $170 Million in debt financing for Saif Power Ltd.
In addition, he is responsible for the strategic planning and business development operations of the Saif Group. He also assists the Chairman and Co-chairman in the Group’s operations, project management and planning.
Omar brings with him a depth of knowledge and experience in various business areas, as well as current management best practices having recently returned from the United States after several years of education and work.
Jehangir Saifullah Khan
Jehangir Saifullah Khan joined the Group after graduating from University of Virginia, USA in 2001. After successfully managing the Group’s Textile operations for three years, he moved to Saif Telecom, where he was involved in developing and securing financing for Pakistan’s first under-sea fiber optic cable system TW-1.
He was made the Chief Operating Officer of Saif Energy Ltd; the Group’s Oil & Gas Exploration & Production Company in January 2006 and is presently the Chief Executive Officer of Saif Energy Ltd.
Mr. Khan has worked with Merrill Lynch, Salomon Smith Barney and ABN AMRO Bank while being a student. He is also the member of the Young President’s Organization (YPO). He has also served as Member Executive Committee of the prestigious Pakistan Petroleum Exploration & Production Association (PPEPCA) in Pakistan.
Mrs. Hoor Yousafzai is the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Saif Healthcare. She Joined the Saif Group in January 2007 as Director of Saif Holdings.
As a Chartered Accountant, Mrs. Yousafzai is also responsible for leading the development and implementation of the Corporate Taxation and Regulatory Compliance of the Group, while also assisting the Chairman and Co Chairman in Strategic Planning and Project Evaluation.
Prior to joining the Saif Group, she worked at KPMG where she gained considerable experience while completing her Articles.
Mrs. Yousafzai was admitted as an Associate Member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Pakistan in 2008. She also holds a Master’s Degree in Economics and Computer Sciences.
Assad Saifullah Khan
Assad Saifullah Khan is the CEO of Kohat Textile Mills Ltd and Director of Legal Affairs for the Saif Group. As Head of the Legal Department he is responsible for co-ordinating all legal and contractual matters for Group subsidiaries and associated companies.
Assad Saifullah Khan brings with him the considerable experience gained through working in the UK and Pakistan.
During his legal education, Assad Saifullah Khan worked with Orr, Dignam & Co (Islamabad) and as a caseworker for the current Deputy Leader of the Labor Party - the Right Honorable Harriet Harman MP, QC.
After completing the Bar Vocational Course, Assad interned for several months at J.D. Spicer & Co. a leading solicitor's practice in London, before moving back to Pakistan during the summer of 2007.
This was followed by a one-year tenure as an Associate at Hassan & Hassan (Lahore). Under the tutelage of Dr. Parvez Hassan, Assad handled company law cases and corporate work for several large multinationals.
Assad Saifullah Khan graduated from the University of Pennsylvania in 2004, majoring in History and Culture and a minor in French. He then moved to London to pursue his legal education by attaining his Common Professional Examination/Graduate Diploma in Law from the College of Law in 2005, and certification in the Bar Vocational Course from the Inns of Court School of Law (ICSL) in 2007.
Dr. M. Salman Iqbal
Dr. M. Salman Iqbal, the Chief Executive of Softech Systems (Pvt.) Ltd. directed the startup and daily operations of this export-oriented Software Development and Technology Services Company.
He has been providing overall technical and business direction for software development activities since its establishment. Under his leadership Softech has completed a number of software development and consulting projects for clients in Canada, Singapore, Turkey, UK, USA and Pakistan.
Dr. Salman Iqbal has corporate senior-level management experience having successfully managed capital market development projects worth several million US Dollars. He carried out pioneering work for stock exchanges of Pakistan to fully automate their trading, clearing, dissemination and depository functions.
Previously, he designed and implemented message passing and network security systems for diverse computing environments.
He has also served as an adjunct faculty member at Lahore University of Management Sciences.
An Electrical Engineer by profession, Dr. Salman Iqbal attended the University of Sussex, UK, for his Doctorate Degree in Data Communication and Networks. He has over 10 international publications in his areas of specialization.
Ahmed Nawaz Khan
Mr. Ahmed Nawaz Khan is the Executive Director of Saif Healthcare Ltd.
An Associate Member of the Institute of Civil Engineers (USA) and a Member of the Institute of Engineers – Pakistan, Mr. Ahmed Nawaz Khan joined the Saif Group in December 1980 as the Resident Director. He has successfully completed a number of key projects for Group including the construction of Lucky Cement, the construction of Saif Textile Mills – Gadoon Amazai and the construction of Kulsum Plaza – an Islamabad landmark and the head office of the Saif Group.
Mr. Ahmed Nawaz Khan has served the Government of NWFP as Assistant Executive Engineer (Irrigation). At the time of his resignation from Government service in 1980, he held the post of Principal Structural Engineer of the Central Design Office, Communication and Works Department, Government of NWFP.
Mr. Ahmed Nawaz Khan holds a Bachelor’s in Civil Engineering with Honours from the University of Peshawar, where he was also the recipient of the “University Gold Medal.” He further specialized by completing his Master’s in Civil Engineering (Structures) from Kansas State University, USA.
In 2004, Mr. Ahmed Nawaz Khan became the founding President of Saif Energy Ltd: Pakistan’s first domestic private sector company to qualify for ISO 9001:2000 certification for Management of Oil & Gas Exploration and Production Activities.
Zaheen ud Din (FCA)
Zaheen ud Din is the Chief Operating Officer and the Chief Financial Officer of Saif Textile Mills Ltd & Kohat Textile Mills Ltd and the Chief Operating Officer of Mediterranean Textile Company.
Since joining the Saif Group in 2000, Mr. Zaheen ud Din’s primary responsibilities include:
Liaising with bankers for arranging short term and long term loans.
Preparing business plans for the Textile division.
Implementing sound internal control systems to safeguard the resources of the company.
Preparing and presenting periodic financial reports to the Board and arranging for them to be published as per SECP requirements.
Mr. Zaheen ud Din is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Pakistan and has considerable experience in the fields of Accountancy, Auditing and Financial Appraisal of diversified businesses.
Before joining the Saif Group, he served as the Treasury Manager of Nishat (Chunian) Ltd, a pioneer textile group in Pakistan.
Muhammad Ishaq Khattak
Muhammad Ishaq Khattak has been associated with Saif Group for over 20 years, during which he has managed financial matters of the Group including accounts, investments and taxation.
He holds a Bachelors degree in Accounting and Financial Management and a postgraduate qualification in Business Law from the University of Karachi.
Muhammad Ishaq Khattak has also been involved in the administration and Human Resource functions and has contributed towards improvements in both.
Khawar Hyat Khan
Khawar Hyat Khan is the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Green Fuels (Private) Ltd.
Mr. Khawar Hyat Khan has been associated with the Saif Group since the late 1980’s. He is presently developing the Saif Group’s new venture in the field of providing alternate, eco-friendly fuel solutions through the setting up of a network of LPG refueling stations in alliances with leading strategic partners.
From 1993 – 2000, Mr. Khawar Hyat Khan was the first CEO and a founding Director of Sigma Motors Ltd – the exclusive franchisee for Land Rover in Pakistan. His experience in setting up several successful startup projects from a green-field is a strategic asset to the Saif Group.
Mr. Khawar Hyat Khan has previously served as the Country Representative of British Telecom (UK), where he worked with the Saif Group to forge the JV leading to the establishment of Pakistan Mobile Communications Ltd (PMCL). He was nominated by the Saif Group and Motorola as the Project Director and subsequently, as the Acting President of the GSM cellular mobile project that was launched as Mobilink.
He brings with him a very wide ranging set of experience - marketing and sales, operations and general management, business development and project directing with ascending levels of responsibility – representing his years working with Burmah Shell, Inter-Continental Hotels, Land Rover, Vitol SA and the Dawn Group of publications.
Sohail H Hydari
Mr. Sohail H Hydari is the Chief Operating Officer – Saif Power Ltd.
He joined the Saif Group in January 2006. Prior to this, for more than five years, Mr. Hydari served as the Chief Operating Office of Gul Ahmed Energy, an Independent Power Producer, selling electricity to the Karachi Electric Supply Corporation. During his tenure, many difficult issues facing the Company were resolved.
Mr. Sohail Hydari holds an MBA (Finance) from the Institute of Business Administration – Karachi. He also holds professional qualifications in Banking from Pakistan and qualification in Insurance from the UK.
Mr. Sohail Hydari’s corporate career has provided him with a diversified experience in different industries including advertising, banking, value added textiles and power generation.
At Gul Ahmed Textiles Mr. Sohail Hydari served as the General Manager – Exports, where his responsibilities included sales & marketing, export refinance, banking, textile quota administration, production liaisoning and HR related issues.
He has previously served with the Bank of Credit and Commerce International in Pakistan, Luxembourg, Germany and Turkey. His last position with the Bank was as the Country Head – Treasury and Investment Banking in Turkey.
